Mozart’s Birthplace
No. 9 Getreidegasse
The Mozart Family lived from 1747 to 1773 at the house located at No. 9 Getreidegasse.
It was also here that their son, Wolfgang Amadeus, was born. Today, their family home is a museum, where famous exhibits are on display, such as the violin the world-famous boy genius played as a child, his concert violin, his clavichord, portraits and letters from the Mozart family.
In 1994, the Mozart home was painstakingly restored, and the museum remodeled to incorporate cutting-edge museum technology.
